Extrusion Lines

ARTIC EX extrusion tunnels are designed to meet the demand for a versatile, reliable and cost effective machine, able to produce sticks, logs, ball cones, bars, cakes, sandwiches etc.

Capacities from 4 000 up to 16 000 pcs/hour are available, with various dosingdecorating stations.

ARTIC EXTRA are also suitable for use as hardening tunnels, to quickly freeze products made by other machines.

Transport conveyor
  • Inside the tunnel the conveyor chain follows a double spiral path around a robust, stainless steel frame. Sprockets guide the position of chain.
  • ARTIC EX lines are fitted with a lubrication-free stainless steel chain to meet maximum cleanability and hygiene standards.
  • A pneumatic chain tightening mechanism provides precise and simple adjustable chain tension which ensures extended chain life and long production periods.
  • The main chain drive is located inside the tunnel and the main drive motor is controlled by frequency converter for easy speed adjustment.
  • Chain 3 level safety system ensures troublefree running for long periods.
  • All chain supports and frame parts are designed and constructed for easy cleaning and maintenance.

 

 

 

 

 

Insulated freezing box

The insulated freezing box is made from dense polyurethane expanded into sandwich elements. The walls and ceiling are constructed from 125mm thick panels. A fully welded stainless steel floor with anti-slip finish is supplied as standard. The tunnel is supplied with entrance door, internal light and safety system.

 

 

Worktable

The worktable is manufactured in stainless steel and prepared for mounting of groups of accessories to produce a large range of products. Open worktable design facilitates cleaning and maintenance. Stations are easily interchanged, fully synchronised with the tunnel movements and ready to be connected to the air and electric system. An operator friendly control panel with all elements easily accessed is located beside the worktable.

 

 

Pick-up conveyor

According to the product being made and the capacity requirement there are various transfer systems available. The basic design is a single lane gripper conveyor to handle stick products, cones and sandwiches. Ice cream portions are picked up by pincers and are dipped in chocolate or juice. A dry ingredient applicator is provided at the dipping station as optional equipment. The position of pincer relative to the product is controlled by PLC and can be easily adjusted by the line operator.

 

 

 

Wrapping machine

A single lane wrapper is located at the end of pick-up conveyor. Products are placed automatically onto the pocket conveyor and by means of a transferring device are carried into the wrapping section. Photocell for print registration and hot/cold sealing units are standard. All parts which come into contact with the product are made from stainless steel or food grade materials.

Control System

 ll ARTIC EX operations are controlled by an OMRON PLC. The main operator panel is a graphic touch screen, located at the control panel beside the worktable. The PLC system synchronises pneumatic motors (filling, cutting, decoration etc) and pick-up conveyor and wrapping machine drives with the main conveyor.

  • Stored values for each station allows quick and easy changeover of working stations with ensured synchronisation
  • Possibility to store data up to 99 different products
  • Simple and easy changes of preset values while the line is running - the operator can immediately see the effect of the new setting
  • Worktable is free of cams, chains etc to ease cleaning
  • Optional accessories to make new products can be easily added to the line and synchronised with the tunnel movements
  • Line diagnostics with error messages and help
